Re: PRA 15.0.1.2 and Keyboard Shortcuts
The best way to check the noise level is to turn off the shape tolerance and set the height threshold to zero, this will generate a huge peak hard up against the left hand side of your pulse height histogram. The peak is noise and it tells you where to set the height threshold. Will test that! Nice...

Re: My spectrometry system
If it is one of those Russian 30x70 crystals, they were quite good, I bought quite a few of those in the past. 12M Ohm divider is a good choice for the GS-1100-PRO, just remember that the 1M load resistor is technically part of the divider, so the voltage on the dynodes will be lower by 1/13 Yes, i...

Re: Help for Theremino
I would however advise you to test PRA, it's way easier to setup!

My thorium spectrum

So... finally got some lead (although I need some more, it doesn't cover my setup properly) and it seems I am making progresses. This was a quick tests, so I have excluded the rightmost side as it wasn't developed yet.

Re: Help for Theremino
The pulses that are captured from your detector through the soundcard are divided into arbitrary units based on their height. Those arbitrary units are then classified in bins of a certain size (in arbitrary units) So each bin gets the pulses obtained at a certain arbitrary unit. I don´t know if thi...

Re: Peter new here
Hello Steve, I am now back home and can also make the difference between the pure lead shield and the additional copper shield test. What can I use to additional to the copper and how many mm must this be? Peter Question Peter, as you´re in Germany too, where did you get your lead and the copper? (...

Re: PRA 15.0.1.2 and Keyboard Shortcuts
Thanks for the update! As you have contact with him, two suggestions from my side, which might be things that are already there and I couldn't find yet: For the Audio Input: I'd love to have a zoom there! Sometimes it's very difficult to see if the noise is or isn't above the threshold! For the puls...

PRA Tolerance Threshold
Hi folks! As I've commented in other videos, I am struggling with what I think is just noise (either that, or something is radiating my home haha, I'll find when I get some lead ingots this week!) and I've found that lowering the Tolerance Threshold to 1.5 or 1 I get rid of that strange peak, which ...

Re: Peter new here
Hallo Peter und wilkommen, I also report from Germany (near Frankfurt area) :) That K40 looks pretty neat! I suggest you to test PRA, it doesn't come with the fancy isotope identification , but I find it way easier to calibrate and use that Theremino once you get used to it! (Check Steven's video on...
