Re: Mirion PDS 100G, Spectrometric Personal Radiation Detector
Is there any source on the Web HDSmass Software can be downloaded from? I havn't found any. HDS-101 as a spectrometer is, in fact, functional without the software as a field device. A main disadvantage is that the peak values on the display can only be determined with one's eyes, there is no real sc...

Re: My lead house for spectrometer
Thanks!
Before buying materials I considered using lead scrap and lead shot but then I arrived a conclusion that it is worth to pay a litte more but to be sure what the shield is really made of. The sheet I used has a certificate that it consist in 99.94% of lead.

Re: Mirion PDS 100G, Spectrometric Personal Radiation Detector
I purchased this device some time ago, I got a CD with the software but the seller claimed he doesn't have any serial numbers.
I tried to contact the software seller but, as a private person, I was completely ignored.
Could anyone here advice me please how to get the full software functionality?

Re: My lead house for spectrometer
A small presentation of the shielding effectivity. As shown before, the natural background in the shielding is about 3,7-3,8 ips. The attached spectrum (once with the background displayed, once without) shows a measurment of a very weak sample. The exposition time was set to 18,000 seconds. The over...

Re: My lead house for spectrometer
It was actually one of my main requirements that the lead is completely enclosed. It is my living room and place of everyday work, there was just no other way from all possible point of views, beginning from the safety and ending with the aestetics. In the attachment you can see the background measu...

My lead house for spectrometer
Hi guys! I would like to show you a lead shielding I made for my spectrometer. Its core is made of lead sheet (2,5 mm thick), rolled on a copper pipe (with 108 mm external diameter and 3 mm thick walls). There is also a lead bottom on which a copper circle is put. I also made a lead lid covered with...

Re: Hello!
"Lehoslav" ist just a nickname derived from my name I use on the web. My full name is Lechosław but for friends I use a short form Leszek. The picture is taken in the Chernobyl Zone at the old Rosokha military "graveyard". All contaminated vehicles were moved some years ago from the original wast si...

Hello!
Hi!
My name is Leszek, I'm from Poland.
I'm deeply interested in radiometry and gamma spectrometry, especially in the contamination after the Chernobyl disaster in the Zone and outside of it.
I've visited the Chernobyl Zone six times and tested a lot of devices there :)
