Re: Fukushima Soil Sample "Reloaded" with both Cs134 Peaks

I couldn't help to make a test too, in the same way Massimo did :-) . This is the first spectrum with my faint Cs137 source (a Spark Gap TG36), 37000s 01-Cs137, SparkGap TG36, 36000s Background.JPG And this is the Fukushima Soil's spectrum + background subtraction. 82000s (45000s net.) 03-Fukushima ...

Hi Massimo, for a comparison here https://www.gammaspectacular.com/phpBB3 ... ?f=5&t=414 there is another thread about Fukushima soil samples.

Re: Autunite (Uranium Ore) Spectrum

Good work, Massimo!
A took a spectra of a Pitchblende sample few days ago, in my lead shield but It wasn't good as yours.
I have to try the PRA's background subtraction, it seems to work very well!

Re: Introduction and Rain Spectrum

Hi Massimo, welcome to the forum. The only thing I could suggest you is to make this test collecting the first rain after a longer period of good weather, in order to have a greater concentration of radon in the paper towels. This is an old test I made with an electrostatically charged balloon. The ...

Re: PRA 22 Hold on to your seats..

Steven, I've just tried the new version, but there's something I don't understand. I followed your suggestions, I put 384 kHz - 16 Bits - left Channel, then I unticked samples 1 to 10 and 50 to 60, but look at the spectrum attached, it's quite strange isn't it? The source is fukushima's soil. PRA22_...

Re: Theremino MCA or Beqmoni ?

I agree with you about the multiple windows, but for the rest I think it's a great software, with a professional approach to the pulse analysis and to the spectra.
I suggest you to make yourself use it.

Re: Theremino MCA or Beqmoni ?

Yes you can, but if you calibrate using the energy equalizer, the next spectra you will take with other isotopes won't be so linear as the first...

Re: Theremino MCA or Beqmoni ?

Hi Sebastian, with Theremino MCA you can only calibrate the spectrum matching just one peak, with its energy, using the energy trimmer. Other peaks should automatically match with their own energies, but if not, because of the lack of linearity of the system, you couldn't do much. With PRA instead (...
