Greetings from Bavaria

Post by RobertD » 09 Jan 2023, 23:13

Hi, my name is Robert Duering and I built my first geiger counter in the mid 70s. Still remember the Valvo geiger tube (18503 / ZP1200) being really expensive back then. The geiger counter still works, btw.
I only recently became hooked on gamma spectrometry through NuclearPhoenix's open gamma project by building my first detector using his SiPM board and a 1" dia x 1" NaI(Tl) scintillator from Ost Photonics. The detector is currently hooked up to a RedPitaya as MCA, thanks to the respective thread in this forum.
All in all, I find my new hobby very fascinating and this forum is providing a wealth of information to get me going, thanks a lot for that.
I have started to collect various check sources for analyzing and optimizing my setups.
Best wishes to all of you,
Robert
