@Svilen: But look, all the settings from other devices for this parameter are more than 1000. I mean the parameter pile sensitivity [cps per µSv/h]. Anyway, I have checked dose rate results with different radiation detectors and it looks good :-)

Could you fine adjust your calibration? If you make a longer measurement you could use the 1764 keV Peak as second Peak in the high energy range very good for calibration.

I misunderstood you, I thought you mean the threshold value, now clear.
I tuned it a bit more and now I am satisfied by what I get. Yes, the 1764 keV peak could be used, but so far I was somehow lazy to press "continue" often enough for a really long measurement. I don't know why they didn't put an unlimited time option, the device main purpose is not spectroscopy, and maybe short spectra from quite intensive sources is what they had in mind for the design, but sill wouldn't be bad to have this possibility.

Actually it is possible to have unlimited measurement time. You just have to set the Settings - Spectrum-Time to "000". This cannot be saved by pressing a button but it will if you wait for about one minute and the menu has switched back to the previous screen.
But there are a few drawbacks/caveats:
- this setting is not permanent, if you switch the device off the time will be reset to default, better check before measurement
- the measurement time will not be saved together with the spectrum data if > 999s, in this case it will always sow as 999s. So write down the measurement time before saving or take a picture of the screen.
- if measurement time exceeds 32k s it will become negative, so you have to calculate 65k - measurement time
- count per channel must not exceed 65k, otherwise overflow will occur and the spectrum gets distorted.

Hope this was useful information.

Hi Stefan,
This is really helpful to know, thank you very much! Well, there are some drawbacks, but if i need to measure something longer than 8h I very likely will not use this device, so this shouldn't really be a problem.
Greetings,
Svilen

I just received the PDS-100G without software. Many thanks for all the info in your forum regarding this nice device.

I would appreciate any help in obtaining the PDSmass Software.

Thank you!

Thank you Stefan!
I didn't know about that setting. I did long measures with the PDS but always pressing "resume" every 999 seconds.
Yesterday I put 000 seconds and it worked like a charm. Like that it's much more comfortable.

The fact that the saved spectrum will never show an acquisition time longer than 999 seconds happens anyway. I usually take a picture of the detector's display before saving the spctrum in the PDS memory, and then I save it in the same folder as the spectrum is saved.

Me too. I'd love a copy of PDSmass as well. I have a version which is very cut down and next to useless.

I would suggest to have this kind of conversation in private :)

I’m now another happy owner of the PDS-100G. Mine just arrived in very nice condition, like others mentioned. (edited...) Cheers, Tom

I'm having some issues with the software communicating with the PDS-100G (please see attached pictures).
Bluetooth is setup on my Win10 Laptop and the PDS-100G is paired.

The PdsMass software seems to communicate with the Bluetooth driver and com port.

However I do not get any communication between the software and the PDS-100G.
I get a send error when trying to do Real Time Readings...

And a similar error when trying to load the Parameters...

Of course I cannot run a spectrum either...
Any ideas from those who familiar with this software and device??? Thanks, Tom
