Greetings from Germany

Post by CareBear » 16 Jan 2020, 01:44

Hello,

I’m Marcel from Germany. My interest in radiation began with collecting radioactive minerals and products from the past (uranium glass, lantern mantels etc.). I also had interest in the field of medical imaging using radiation so I started training to become a radiology technician (hope that’s the correct term in English).

I bought a few different Geiger counters and dosimeters in the past and I’m now willing to take the plunge into the world of spectroscopy after watching a lot of videos on YouTube and consequently reading up on the physics behind it.

I hope you’re all having a nice week!

Hello Marcel,

Welcome to the forum, it sounds like you will find plenty of likeminded people here.

Great place to share your experiences and read about other peoples work..

Hi Marcel,

your "radioactivity history" sounds similar to mine.
Greetings from Erlangen, Germany, and welcome to the forum!

Nice to hear about some like-minded germans.

I always feel like 99% of the population here are suffering from severe radiophobia :D

I got to know my setup a bit over the weekend so I’ll probably share some results soon!
