Howdy
Ive recently been working with Monte Carlo simulations as part of another hobby and can probably use them for estimating detector efficiencies.
If anyone is interested as an experiment, if they have a detector for which they have schematics and a source in a beaker or something (not a point source) it might be interesting to try and determine an efficiency curve. Simple geometry is obviously best - like a Cs-137 solution in a plastic beaker or something.
I would have to have fairly accurate Dimensions of teh detector and its housing and the sample holder and its construction. If any one is interested let me know!

Re: Monte Carlo Efficiency Calculation: Offer
Hi P ;-),
I did setup an efficiency field for my 38B57.
Efficiency (radius from middle 0...20mm, distance 0...100mm.
Is that something you like to match with your calculations?
Best,
Martin
