Photomultiplier life time
Hello guys. I recently integrated my meteo station with a pulse counter with a 30x70mm BGO crystal coupled to 50mm Hamamatsu r1306 The intention is to monitoring the background 24h/day. Now my question is How much lifespan I have to expect from the photomultiplier? The divider has, high resistance (8...

detector ID
hello Guys,
please help me identifying this detector: M30SHD2,5.
it seems a low energy naitl ,but which PMT is inside?
which divider should I use?
thanks

Re: Building an XRF detector with CsI(Tl)
Few years ago I bought two of these Soviet-crystals:
very thin NaI(Tl) covered with beryllium window.
Sometimes they still appears on ebay.
They have some yellow spot but resolution is decent.
I made a good low energy probe, nice for xrf experiments.

Re: Info about probe
Hi Luuk I ‘ve had no doubt you were the only guy that could gave me info.
3mm thickness : this is the reason I cannot obtain a spectrum of cs137!
The detector is working : it give good cps response also with weak sources.
But if the Crystal is so thin: what’ the center hole for?

Re: CSI Detector
Hi Nicola, The detector is exactly as Tom described it, 13mm round, 38mm long, the crystal is CsI(Tl), the pmt R7400u. It is difficult to connect them because the pmt wires are very fragile and it is hard to find the right pmt socket. If it works you expect a resolution from around 7.2-7.5%@662KeV ...
