I am not familiar with PRA but in Beqmoni I was said that the "b" parameter of the calibration equation allows to adjust shifts in temperature. My experience tends to confirm this.

Professional souncard are often 24 bits and 96 kHz or 192 kHz so codec should exist ?

Very interesting and it could be the base for a feature.
In Theremino MCA something approching is the "scale options" parameters which allows to dose fit the log scale as you wish.

What do you find so desirable in PRA exactly ? I agree it seems to have a powerful pulse analysis engine, but it lacks feature to read the spectrum. Why no possibility to have a library of photopeaks or regions of interest ?

Interesting ! How does one collimate photons ? A simple hole in a lead plate is enough, or should the hole be long enough like a tunnel to form a "cannon" ?

Thanks you very much, your comments make sense :) Yes my detector is built for 30 to 3000 keV so very low energy x rays are not really a concern.

When you speak about iron, do you mean pure iron, or cast iron which is iron mixed with a good quantity of carbon ? I have found cast iron chimney tubes, is that the kind of tubes you are thinking about when writing"easy to find" ?

Well, my last experience with PRA 2 ou 3 years ago was not a good experience. Setting are obscure and the user interface is a pain in th ***. I hate the multiple Windows. For me using PRA is like having to use a linux distribution and battling with settings when a Windows OS is immediately usable. I...
