Hi Steven and thank you for your welcome, I live in the countryside and things aren't bad there and indeed, I'll keep playing with my counter ;) Regarding the DIY detectors, I've considered it, however sourcing the different parts I need from different places makes the total shipping cost and border...

Re: Mirion PDS 100G, Spectrometric Personal Radiation Detector
Thank you Tom,
The GS-USB-PRO paired with one of your Scionix Holland Gamma Scintillation Detector NaI(Tl) would perfectly match my budget. I'll get in touch with you once I've made my mind.

Re: Mirion PDS 100G, Spectrometric Personal Radiation Detector
Thank you Svilen this is what I thought... the Mirion is an amazing device to have something portative. I might still get one to introduce myself to spectrometry and then move to something more efficient to do longer mesurements on low energy sources with additional shielding. PS: Introduction done ;)

Re: Mirion PDS 100G, Spectrometric Personal Radiation Detector
Hi everyone ! I'm currently looking for gamma spectrometer that isn't too expensive. That's how I've discovered this topic ! The PDS 100G looks like a really nice device with a wide range of functions and I'm very tempted to get one. However the spectrometer that I'm looking for needs to be sensitiv...
