Re: gamma spectrometer signal
Steven, I'm not shielding background. The CdWO4 scintillators naturally have low background counts. Yesterday I increased about ten times amplification and I've noticed coming pulses more frequently on oscilloscope. Here is the recored audio for radium 226 after changes: https://drive.google.com/fil...

Re: gamma spectrometer signal
Steven, After the closer inspection, I found that was a light leakage. I sealed the box and increased 5 times amplification of the signal due to your suggestions. The current recording after the modification is attached here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/126HpkTgIFUqmIXYojK58w7yx5qfDK87k/view?usp...

Re: gamma spectrometer signal
To find the solution of problem I recorded output from my spectrometer with program InTune: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BG3Pcbx24SuFLBut33muzjsAOmI-gmx2/view?usp=sharing Please look at this pulses, I would be very grateful for help with filtering radium 226 gamma spectrum from this .wav file if...

Re: gamma spectrometer signal
Steven,
I reduced system sound volume to 50%. Since then, the pulses have shown. With higher volume then 50%, the tops of the highest pulses are horizontally cut. The check source is radium-226.
The spectrum still doesn't look correctly:

Re: gamma spectrometer signal
Steven, I've reshaped pulses to fit them in range 0-1.4 volts. I also added zero pole cancellation. Now they looks like this: https://www.gammaspectacular.com/phpBB3/download/file.php?mode=view&id=3268 https://www.gammaspectacular.com/phpBB3/download/file.php?mode=view&id=3269 I didn't know ...

Re: Gamma spectrometer Theremino or PRA
Dear GigaBecquerel,
I created the new topic, because I consider electronics problem with my detector.
Here is the link to the topic, where is video of pulses with the mVpp statistics on the baseline: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=992

gamma spectrometer signal
I've built gamma spectrometer with CdWO4 scintillator crystal connected to diode with unknown parameters. The crystal dimensions are 30x7x5 mm. The output signal are positive pulses with heights in range 0-2 volts amplitude and 150 µs width at the bottom. Here is example output pulse and software di...

Hello from Poland
Hello everyone.
My name is Paweł, I came from Poland. I'm a physics student, generally interested in optics and electronics. I got here, because I was trying to build gamma spectrometer and I have little problems with it.
