Hi Steven,
Long time no chat, I do have a crystal housing, with nothing inside (see att), the scintllator: BoDiPy in ethanol, no clue what it was used for.
Cheers, Boris.

Re: Depression uranium glass
Great work Peter,
So can we conclude that the Uo2 and the scott VG3 is missing the thorium234 peak around 60 KeV?
and this would not be possible with the other Th234 peak present...or its part of the xrf of the lead castle?
Cheers, Boris.

Re: Depression uranium glass
Great to see the fingerprints match Peter! that´s is a match...and Geoff...wow...that´s a mighty stack of uranium glass, cool with the black-lights.... the Vaseline glass is produced pre and past WW2, (I wonder if past WW2 glass has any U235, depending on or the ore is processed or not?) so if you c...

Re: Depression uranium glass
Note:
Isotope identification is not correct, the energies are calibrated correct.
The first right peak should probably be U238.
The next one cannot be U236
Any suggestion is more than welcome!
Cheers, Boris

Depression uranium glass
Not depressed, my GS-1100 is working fine!
It did have some problems, after a short I made, but today everything is working fine.
I did buy a ugly smal green glass bowl, it just fits the lead castle and that does give a nice spectrum...
Cheers, Boris.

hahaha, he's just enthusiastic & energetic and is pulling the public into the story, great show.
Yes the baloney detector, is as important as the gamma detector.

Re: tritium
wow, Schrammel that's quite a philosophical approach. it's quite simple when I went to school, life was easy. no internet. and we played outside a lot. in high-school we only had electrons, neutrons and protons, and photons.( no quarks and whatnot :)) all the trouble in the world was in countries fa...
