Figured it out. Had a slight issue with the Energy Linearizer. All in order now.

My Current System

Hello everyone. Figured it's time I share a few pictures of my current system. I'm running Theremino version 6.7 with a GS-1100A driver, Bicron 1.5x2.25" NaI(TI) PMT, and a copper lined 124lb lead castle. My background count rate in the castle is approximately 3.5-3.8 counts per second. Overall I'm ...

Re: Ludlum Model 3

I managed to get one of the new ones (4 screws) for $275. Looks almost unused. Think I got a good deal. Looking now for a 44-2 or better to go along with it. Or maybe a 44-2 will be fine. Much larger and I will undoubtedly have scaling issues. I'm sure sometime in the next year I will get a Model 12...

Theremino Calibration

Hello all. I am currently running Theremino MCA with a GS-1100A and a Bicron 1.5x2.25 scintillation detector. I'm having difficulty with calibration while using Cs-137 and Lu-176. Seems that I'm consistently off by about 50keV between the Lu-176 peaks and the 661 keV cesium peak. I've also noticed a...

Ludlum Model 3

I'm in the market for a good used Ludlum Model 3 to support my spectroscopy system. For those in the know, is $300 a fair price for a decent unit without a probe?

Re: Background Correction (Theremino)

Think I just found the answer in the old forums. Will try to see how it works later this evening.

Background Correction (Theremino)

Is there a way in Theremino to subtract a previously acquired background (norm) reading from the reading of a low level source? I'm trying to obtain a spectra from Manganese 56 but its buried in the background.
