Re: FLIR ICX Raider CZT + GN

Martin, Well done, I know how satisfying it is to find the fault with equipment that someone else discarded as useless or not worth repairing. Often it is less complicated than you would at first imagine. Not related to radiation detection, but my 8 year old son has taken up playing the saxophone in...

Re: 150KeV peak not U235?

Mike, Both of your theories are plausible, sum x-ray peak will land around 150 kV and some Compton back scatter from the higher energy peaks may also land around there. In PRA you could try running the spectrum with a very tight pulse shape tolerance ~ 0.5 to 0.8 this should eliminate some of summin...

Re: Semiconductor Survey Meters

Greg, I see no one has yet replied to your post. Unfortunately I can't be of much help as I haven't done much work with semiconductor detectors and SIPM's but it's on my list of things to do. Semiconductors operate with a very different voltage and amplifier scheme and as far as I know there aren't ...

Re: gamma spectrometer signal

Pawel,

Sorry for slow reply, I just got back from a weeks trip up to Queensland.

I just opened your audio file in Audacity and as you can see for yourself the tallest pulses are barely making it to 50 arb.u.
