How difficult is it to detect K40 using LaBr3(Ce)?

Hi Guys,

I am going to build another 1" LaBr3 detector in a couple of weeks, shall make a point of doing a few tests with it before sending it out to the client.

How bad is the price for LaBr3 of that size? i know it certainly is not the cheapest of materials, but certainly has its place.
Say compared to a CsI of that size or even a two times larger NaI.

You can get a 1*1" LaBr at around 1.3k, maybe 1k if you ask nicely.

jk, that's not a terrible amount i was just looking at prices for individual crystals and came out with that rough amount for myself to build one.

But no, I meant that's the price from various chinese sellers, like ost, or epic etc.
