I bought this many years ago but I lost interest and forgot about it. It's been kept in storage ever since.
I can't find anything about it anywhere on the Internet so if someone can identify it and perhaps has some info about specs I would be grateful. Thanks.
Soviet detector
Re: Soviet detector
This is 63*63 mm NaI with FEU82 photomultiplier. If the crystal inside is in good condition it's better to use it with good 3" PMT, for example from Photonis or Hamamatsu. FEU82 is not so good, high non-uniformity of cathode sensitivity leads to decrease of resolution, also FEU82 usually needs higher voltage, 1200-1500 V to get useful signal from its anode.
This detector have a nice rugged housing, all electronics with MCA can be put inside exposing only USB connector.

Good info, thanks. I'll open it to check if the crystal is good.Madmax wrote: ↑09 Sep 2024, 11:02This is 63*63 mm NaI with FEU82 photomultiplier. Re: Soviet detector
I decided to sell it, it's posted in the buy & sell forum. Thanks.
