After Some years the gammaspectacular bug was back,
setting up the lab a bit and checking out my gear the I found my probe to be in a very bad condition.
There was always a hair fracture in the glass...now a complete mes ( see att)
well, the metal parts and PMT are still usable, looking for en new scintillator now... about 56mm, maybe somebody want to trade some 3" PMT's for a project? (RCA 4524v3) I have some.
