Scionix 38B57 disassembly

How exactly does one remove the end cap on the cable end?
I think my detector is arcing internally.

Figured it out..

I applied gentle heat to the cap only, holding the cylinder to make sure it wasn't too hot, then let it cool.
This fatigued or decomposed the adhesive.
Next clamp the cap ONLY in a vise, and gently rock the tube till the cap separates.
About 1% as hard as I was worried it might be.

Pics for whoever it may help
