INL Gamma Spectrometry Site

Post by Sesselmann » 29 Apr 2015, 19:58

Hi Guys,

I thought it would be a good idea to transfer this last post from the old forum, as few are probably looking at it now.

I found this site with lots of information on gamma spectrometry, including sample spectra of just about any conceivable gamme peak, including activation products. You can download the complete catalogue in either NaI(Tl) or HPGE, which will be very useful for ID purposes.

http://www4vip.inl.gov/gammaray/index.shtml

Many of the spectra are of neutron activated materials, which are usually out of reach for most amateurs, unless you happen to have a neutron generator and some deuterium stashed away in the garage ;)

Must get that working again....

Steven

The periodic-table interface is really useful: http://www4vip.inl.gov/gammaray/catalogs/catalogs.shtml

Hi guys

I noticed that we already have this massive PDF catalogue in the first post in this thread; it is the massive 23 mb PDF file.

However, the periodic table approach is also useful when one quickly knows what one is looking for and don't want to go through the massive PDF file.
