Hello from Turkey

Post by quantumlove » 11 Jan 2026, 09:41

My name is Mehmet, and I am part of a small startup company called Muontek, based in Turkey. We are a spin-off from the Crystal Growth Laboratory at Middle East Technical University (METU).

Our focus is on developing radiation detection electronics and exploring next-generation detector materials for nuclear spectroscopy and radiation monitoring applications.

We are currently planning to release a completely open-source Digital Pulse Processor (DPP) for nuclear spectroscopy, including hardware, firmware, and software components. The goal is to provide a transparent, flexible, and research-friendly platform that can be used by students, researchers, and developers working with scintillators, semiconductor detectors, and novel materials.

I am here to gather suggestions, feature requests, and feedback from the community before making our first public release.
This post is the first step, and I will be sharing more technical details very soon.

Thank you, and I look forward to your input.

Best regards,

Hello Mehmet,

Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you and your team can bring some valuable information to the forum.

Crystal growth and DPP are both interesting subjects. I think it is important to develop crystal crowth capabilities in different places around the world, so China does not end up with a complete monopoly on growing crystals commercially.

If you want to tell us more about your work on DPP, I suggest a post in the software forum.

Steven
