Hello, all,
My name is William Carpenter. I'm a (non-nuclear) engineer in the Seattle area. I picked up an interest in the science of radioactivity back in high school though element collecting. Back then my budget was only enough to cover an old CDV-700 and kits with Soviet Geiger tubes. I've recently picked up the hobby again and am enjoying having access to the detection equipment I could only dream of back then. I'm currently browsing around the forums to learn what I can while I get ready to put together my first gamma spectroscopy setup.
Looking forward to learning from you all and sharing anything cool I find along the way.

Hello 38lightning.
Thanks for the intro and yes we do a lot of cool stuff here, but because we are a close group we use our real names when we post.
You can either update your handle 38lightning to a real name if it is available or add a signature to the footer of your posts with a name and location.
Minimum requirement is first name and city.
Cheers..
