Despite skimming through this new forum from time to time, the last months have been too busy for me to make useful contributions. Let me start by (re)introducing myself. I am from Germany and earn my living as software engineer. Besides that, I am interested in all kind of natural science and nuclear physics in particular.
About a year ago, I purchased a GS-1102-Pro from Steven and started building my own probe using a XP1010 10 stage PMT and a 30mm x 70mm NaI(Tl) crystal. Over the time, I made some small improvements to this probe (I will share details in another post) and also wrote a small OSX software for spectrum acquisition and visualisation for fun (ditto). One thing that is still missing in my setup is a proper shielding - but I already got a lot of ideas and inspirations from browsing this forum :)

Hi and welcome to the forum. It's good to see some activity here after a few months of relative quiet. I suspect summer holidays n the northern hemisphere is the reason. Activity seems to be picking up again now and I guess we will be back in the swing of things very soon.
