Hello from Missouri
Hi my name is Zachary Marlow, for years I've been wanting to add a gamma spectrometer to my lab desk for further my research in soil science. My education is in Biology and Environmental Science and I do a lot of investigations on pollutions and hazardous sites so I thought it would be a handy tool to have in the lab. I've spent the last year saving up for one and finally pulled the trigger on it, in the mean time I've already built a lead chamber. Looking forward to learning from the group.

Re: Hello from Missouri
Zachary,
Welcome to the group, I see why you are interested in gamma spectrometery and I am sure you will find it interesting, there is a lot more going on in a bucket of dirt than most people realise.
Feel free to discuss your lead shield ond other findings in the appropriate forums.
Steven
