Australia Post suspends postal services to the US

This is unprecedented but not unexpected, Australia Post has suspended postal services to the US.

The removal of the deminimis rule on US imports without a plan for how to deal with it is a logistical disaster, there is no way postal systems around the world are ready or even interested in managing this. If the US wants to tax it's citizens it is clearly a matter for the USPS to deal with and not the exporting country.

Today I received this notice from Australia post.
