Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is well and finding enough time to investigate the inner workings of atoms ⚛️.

Time flies and I realised that it's been some time since my last post, so here is a quick update. I have been busy winding up my other business which has been running for more than 40 years, it's a big job, so many things to sort out, but the good news is that Gammaspectacular, which started off as a hobby business, will now be my full time gig.

Recently I have also spent a lot of time writing code, yes another refactor of Impulse. I originally wrote Impulse in Python Dash-Plotly, which essentially runs as a web server on your local machine, it looks slick, but because the front end GUI is your local browser I feel that many users were uncomfortable about it being a browser and even though it ran on the local machine I have had users question security concerns. Another Issue which turned out hard to fix, was that closing the browser did not stop the server from running.

To cut a long story short, I am rewriting the app in Python PySide6 which opens up and looks a lot more like a traditional app, it also appears more responsive, but unfortunately lacks the sleek look of Dash-Plotly, check boxes look like check boxes and buttons look like buttons 😑

Still quite a lot of debugging to do, but will let you know when it is ready.
