Well, you can say goodbye to the few XRF guns and SDDs on ebay that were affordable...
Don't get me wrong, I like ben and his videos, but everything he shows just becomes unaffordable, just like those cryocoolers years ago.
A friend of mine actually managed to get measurable x-rays from tape, and made a small video about it:

I just had a look on ebay and yes, some of those prices are insane. It's really not that hard to make one of these.
