Re: Ocean temperatures
Hi Tim,
In my opinion, this is mostly a political issue just like with everything else climate change related. Point out people and politicians that claim climate change isn't real, vote for parties that are more concerned about the climate and the environment in general than others. Pressure politicians into enacting more laws on restricting mega corporations and the super rich in their harmful business practices and lifestyle. But that are pretty much leftist and libertarian views that some people really dislike and as long as we think of climate change as a problem of right vs left wings, we lost. We could also do nothing and hope for the best, because there might be the possibility that the consequences are not going to be as bad as we think today and we can just continue on with everything, like some conservative polticians suggest. I don't know, I don't have a magical crystal ball that tells me the future, but I think the scientific evidence is pretty clear on what we should definitely stop doing asap.

Hi NuclearPhoenix
Thank you very much for your thoughtful reply.
It seems to me that unless we can get much more caring people into positions of power, this won't be fixed.

Re: Ocean temperatures
Like with most polar debates there is a bit of truth on both sides and a whole lot of political propaganda drowning out the facts. Don't be fooled, politics is about money, big money to be made on issues like global warming, COVID or whatever issue is the hot topic. COVID was milked for every dollar it could give, a few people made a lot of money whilst a lot of people were inconvenienced, not to mention the millions of face masks made from god knows some kind of non biodegradable material littering the oceans and the countryside.
Global warming is even bigger than COVID, and fear is the tool of choice for governments to gain the public acceptance for the billions that will be handed out to a few people.
That said, are humans having an impact on the environment, absolutely and do we need regulation, absolutely.
Best solution would be if we stop debating it and get on with what we already know is the right thing to do.
