To all registered members and those still sitting on the fence,
Please help to make these discussion forums fun, relevant and interesting to the wider scientific community by sharing knowledge and experiences in the field of radiation detection.
Our objective is to collect and document common knowledge, in the art of radiation detection so it can become a source of reference for others. The forum is also a place to discuss new ideas and technologies, so please consider this when creating new threads or replying to existing threads.
Consider if what you are about to post has any value to someone else reading it in the future, if not maybe it is more suited to a private message. All members of this forum have access to private messaging, so if you just want to have a chat with another member, a pm is the way to go.
We don't want this forum to be a heavily moderated dictatorial forum, so that's all we want to say for now, however we might edit this post from time to time as required.

Re: Forum Objective and a few simple rules
Hi all,
Our forum has been growing lately and we now have around 160 members, so it is probably a good idea to push this post to the top and remind everyone of the forum objective.
I also want to remind everyone about the "Real name" + "Real place" rule and why we have it in place, it's all about Scientific collaboration and quite often what starts off as a casual reply to a post, can often lead to a serious and long term scientific collaboration, either through private messaging or actual face to face collaboration, so please use the default signature option in the UCP (User Control Panel) to put your Real name, Place, and optionally Institution.
If you have already registered with a slightly embarrassing login handle, you have the option to change it to something better in the UCP.
We now have 3-4 moderators on the forum who are helping to keep the forum professional and spam free.
A big thanks to everyone who has contributed so far, we are building up a valuable database of knowledge from which others can learn in the future.
