Spambot Registrations still a problem

Post by Sesselmann » 20 May 2020, 09:26

Hi Guys,

Once again the forum has been under heavy attack by registration spambots. this results in hundreds of new user accounts, which then later attempts to post links to game sites and porn sites. The spammers seem to be mostly Russian.

To clean up the site I have purged all users with zero posts, so if anyone has registered an account but not yet posted an introduction, your account has been deleted, so please register again and make at least one introduction post.

Obviously the question and answer spambot prevention is not good enough, so I have now changed it so new registrants need to send me a text message, I will then reply with the answer to the question.

Hope this works..

Steven
