Cs-137 - quite a banal spectrum, but out of a new hardware :)

Post by Svilen » 24 Nov 2021, 21:10

Last month I got a new 2"x2" CsI(Tl) detector from Luuk and also Steven's new GS-USB-PRO driver, which both did a great job so I just wanted to share the results here:

Source: Spark gap tube; Time: 2 hours; Shield: 3mm Cu + 25mm Pb

Linearity of the detector at 900V tested with a Th source:

Very nice!
5.6 % from CsI is really good, you got lucky!
Got a pic of the detector?

Hello Svilen,
Great spectrum and a very nice resolution, well done!
Good to see that you are happy with your new detector I know for sure that your detector will last for a long long time.
Have lots of fun with it.
If you have some more spectra please share it with the group.
Luuk
