A new version of OpenGammaSpec (version 08.3.4) is available SourceForge.net, OpenGammaSpec / NewVersion). With this version the self-attenuation of a sample can be calculated.
With LINUX you can use the upgradeGamma.sh script as usual. For details have a look to my last post in the Spectrum Topic.
