This offer was about one month online, but because there was only a little interest the offer is expired, remaining crystals are scrapped.
The five persons requested a crystal all got the best I had the 100% working crystals!

Hi Tom,
That is great detector you build there nice finishing on the housing real professional look.
And a perfect result 6.7% for Cs-137 noting left to improve, I like it!

A question for Luuk and/or Tom. Is it possible to cut CsI crystal (maybe from your remaining crystals) with this dimensions : 4x4x20mm (the same as LYSO crystals that can be found around). I have some SiPMs and I would like to couple them to CsI because LYSO give too much background.

Lodovico - I have saw cut CsI crystal before, but my experience is that the CsI crystal is fragile and can crumble easily, so it can be difficult but I think possible to make in a home lab. I see CsI crystals of even smaller dimensions available often, but professionally cut. I think you would have to start with larger dimensions and sand to size. The most difficulty I think might be in making a 4x4mm face perfect enough for the coupling to SiPM. I'm sure Luuk would have some practical professional experience and advise on this. Cheers, Tom

Hi Lodovico,

I would not cut the crystal first it is not as simple as it looks if you do not have the right tools, special when you cut it in small pieces like you want like Tom says it can easy crumble in small pieces.
Second the light from CsI(Na) is not the best colour for an SiPm, it is better to use CsI(Tl).
