Hi guys,
I build a 1x1" LaBr3 detector for myself from one of the 4 peaces that I got from Pavlos
(see previous post) .
Interested please read the pdf.

Re: My LaBr3 detector
Luuk,
Happy New Year to you too, and thanks for sharing your LaBr3 Build.
Excellent results from the detector despite the small crystal. I never built a detector with a crystal directly glued to the PMT, although I have destroyed a few 😜
My 1" LaBr3 crystals are encapsulated, so I use a 3D printer to create a 2" centring ring to fit the PMT and hold the crystal in the middle, it works pretty well.
Keep up the good work and have a great 2023.
Steven

Hi Luuk,
Please let me know what glue do you use for direct glueing of crystals to PMTs. It have to be a little bit soft to avoid crystal cracks, isn't it?
I tried glueing SiPMs to CsI(Tl) crystals with negative result, it cracks sooner or later.
Thanks!

Maxim,
Selleys have a product called all clear, it is indended as a bathroom glass and tile sealant, but it is water clear and remains rubbery.
I have used it in the past with good results, but it is not easy to remove again.
