Hi everyone,
My name is Yvan and I live in France. I'm a programmer and network engineer. Actually, my hobbies for radioactivity starts when I purchased a Radex 1706 on eBay to check some old stuff and my near-environnement.
Indeed, it quickly became a huge domain that passionates me, as much the phenomenon that the means to measure it, having since multiple scintillators, geiger counters, proportionals for different purpose.
Now it'll do more than five years I got this fever and starts months ago multiple projects on scintillation stuff (like full automated handheld spectrometer).
I also created an association which will officially open in the next month.
The reason why I came here is first I discovered nice posts that helped me on the choice of hardware, but also because it's pretty hard to find places where we can exchange true experiences and advices on this domain.
Hope we will have some nice ideas to discuss about!

Thanks for the introduction and welcome to the forum.
It's amazing how radiation detection captures the interest of so many people, I guess the fascination is our ability to see what most other people can't see, the invisible workings of matter at it's most fundamental level .
