Impulse Christmas Update

Post by Sesselmann » 13 Dec 2023, 19:56

I have had my my head deep into Python code for the last couple of weeks, modifying Impulse to work with the new GS-MAX and ATOM-NANO spectrometers. These spectrometers communicate by serial port and work differently to sound card spectrometers, rather than processing the spectrum on the PC they actually process the spectrum on the hardware side, which should make things easier, but when you add in the complexity of the serial communication protocol it's as harder than ever.

In any case it looks like I have the beta version working, but expect a few bugs, so we will deal with them as they turn up.

For use with audio spectrometers not much has changed, but when you select a serial device you will see that all audio specific inputs and plots disappear and other devise specific inputs show.

I have only sold a handful of the ATOM-NANO and the GS-MAX spectrometers, but at least they now work with Impulse.

Oh, and just for fun I added the Potassium option to the background ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ
