Hi All
I have just joined the Forum and want to introduce myself - My name is Stuart Barclay, I am a Geologist/Geochemist currently working as a self employed consultant. My background consists of hydrocarbon exploration for a range of companies in North Africa/Middle East/PNG/Australia and some mineral exploration in Australia. My main interests are:
1. Application of gamma spectroscopy to the assay/identification of geological samples during fieldwork.
2. Applications & development of nuclear well logging technology.
3. Development of low cost, portable ruggedised gamma spectrometer suitable for fieldwork.
Looking forward to reading and engaging in the discussions on the Forum.
cheers
Stu

Hi Stu,
I give you the formal welcome and initiate you in the group :)
It's always good to see gamma spectrometry being put to some real practical use, rather than just measuring gamma for gamma sake. I have had a few queries from geologists lalely and have been trying to get a better understanding of what's needed in the field. Would like to turn my attention to developing some simple products specifically for well logging.
I understand there are issues with vibration, heat, moisture and last but not least how to get the data to the surface, but I think it's possible.
Any knowlege you can share would be great..
Steven
