Hi All,

I am a mechanical engineer that recently joined a project developing a satellite-borne scintillation detector using SiPMs. I really have no background in radiation detection/measurement but I've been learning lots in the last couple months. I will be responsible for the design/construction/assembly aspects of our detector, so I come here hoping to find some practical advice that can help me out with this. I've already found a ton of great information on here (lots of good information in Luuk's posts about refurbishing old crystals). Right now we are testing some different scintillators, reflector materials, and SiPMs to settle on before proceeding with more detailed design.

Looking forward to learning from everyone here!

Regards,

-Luke

Luke,

Welcome to the forum, sounds like interesting work. Have you seen our tiny dosimeter with CsI scintillation crystal and SiPM ?

It only weighs 20 grams and will run on a button battery for 3 months.
