Radangel from Kromek
Can be used with Thermimo ,PRA
Imetry on IPad
Radangel windows software to measure Cs137 activity in soil or environment.
Not compatible for IPhone from my experience
Otherwise will be really handy at airports etc
Just need an audio cable to connect to
iPad .
Resolution better than NaI detectors
See pics
Thanks

Re: Radangel
Sorry
Left out something
The green is Thermimo obviously
The pink is Imetry
The first is Radangel software to measure Cs137 activity

Re: Radangel
Very interesting, I've just asked for a quote, just for information, I don't think it's an amateur product ;-)

This is a website for Kromek history
Even though it is sold to schools ,it is pretty handy due to the higher resolution of the czt detector
Because of small detector size very slow to pick up low count rates
My weak Kr85 source shows a good pic with my NaI detector within a few minutes
Rad angel barely show a peak .
Perhaps if I wait for a few hours it may show something I really don’t know.
Otherwise within minutes it display high resolution peaks
Measures from 50 kev to 1500 kev
I don’t think I have seen any peaks beyond 662 kev Cs137 within a short time.I guess most of the higher peaks tend to be low and may take a long time to show up.
Not sure how it will perform in gamma analysis survey in view of small detector size,
Does not come with software
Free Kspect software
Need to download after purchase to set in serial no to activate .
Multispect software a paid software comes with peak analysis and other added features
You can get a free trial for a week.
Expensive .
I find Thermimo to be the best using an external sound card .
Imetry with iPad is convenient
Imetry comes with Rad angel software incorporated
Just need the audio cable provided
Just plug in and play.
Everything else is in situ.
Sadly Imetry has got no iPhone version
Giger bot for iPhone don’t work on Radangel

P.S
My pics are for radium and Am241

Re: Radangel
This is for comparison
GS Walkabout with radium and Am241 smoke detector
CZT Radangel giving better resolution with similar timing .
GS Walkabout is eye catching but more sensitive in open places like airports or hospitals due to the larger NAI detector.
Perhaps put in a small bag with audio cable sticking out to iPhone.
