Hi Steven,
I will be happy to try your Impulse, seems amazing. But I am having a lot of troubles for the installation (also because I never used phyton) so I think I will wait an .exe file for auto-installation on Windows :-) :-)

Marco,
Thanks for your attempt, unfortunately there won't be a .exe version, because packaging up a tiny Python program (10 kB) results in a massive 500 MB file and that doesn't make sense.
Instead you should think of Python as the actual program and Impulse as the script, much the same way as you need Excel top open a spreadsheet.
You just download and install the current stable version of Python, then follow the instructions on the ReadMe file.
Here is a good introduction to Python. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqtD5dpn9C8
It's not that difficult, PM me if you need help.

Hi Steven,
I understand your point.
In that case I promise I will try to install this weekend :-)
Many thanks for the link!

Re: Impulse by Gammaspectacular
Hi All,
In the last couple of weeks I have only made a couple of minor changes to Impulse and otherwise leaving it for people to try. The good news is we have confirmation from several Windows users that the program is working for them.
I have been using it myself on a Mac, and find it quick and easy to boot up when I am testing detectors.
The only issue I have noticed when using Impulse on my Mac is that it struggles to catch all pulses in 384 kHz mode, I get good spectra, but with some loss of counts compared to PRA, not sure if this is caused by the long deadtime or my processor falling behind. Python may not process data as fast as other languages like C+, not sure maybe someone smarter than me can check my code. When sampling at 192 kHz or slower, I get the same count rate in PRA and Impulse.

Re: Impulse by Gammaspectacular
Sometimes I may call it OCD I prefer Impusive 😊
After a ridiculous 10 hour coding session I have uploaded a new version of Impulse.
I am sure we will find some bugs, so just email me from the link on tab1
