Barium 133 Gamma Spectrum
There are 33 known isotopes of Barium, of which 133Ba is the most stable, it has a half life of 10.5 years, and emits a whole range of gammas, some which can be readily identified with a sodium iodide detector, and many that require higher resolution to see. This first spectrum is taken from a 133Ba sealed check source, using a Ludlum 44-10 detector, and GS-1100A2, with PRA 5.1.
For comparison, I shall also attach a spectrum of the same source taken with an eV-CZT detector. The CZT detector has superior resolution in the low end, and reveals many more peaks. Note the second spectrum is shown in log scale.
