Cerium Bromide Scintillation Detector

High resolution gamma scintillation detector with 1.5" x 1.5"  CeBr3 crystal.

Cerium bromide or CeBr3, despite it's high cost, offers superior resolution to NaI(Tl) and can provide gamma separation where it would simply not be possible with NaI, many claim that CeBr3 is even better than Lanthanum Bromide (LaBr3) because it does not suffer from self counts due to internal isotopes.


These detectors are made to order and tested before shipping to have a resolution better than 4.5%


Construction Notes

For optimum resolution we fit our 1.5" diameter CeBr3 crystal to a 2" PMT, and therefore fit the assembly in our 2" aluminium housings, the PMT is magnetically shielded and padded inside the housing for maximum protection.
