Multi Channel Analyzer (MCA) for Spectroscopy - Digital

The GS-MAX-8000 is a professional grade digital MCA with integral high voltage bias and preamplifier. Perfect for teaching laboratories or professional environments where multiple probes may be used.

Powered from a standard USB 2.0 port it connects to any scintillation detector with a PMT and can collects pulses at up to 200 kcps. It's internal pre-amplifier and micro processor digitizes the analogue pulse from the PMT and outputs a complete spectrum over 8192 at 1 Hz. Bias voltage and other parameters can be set by sending commands from the software interface.

Temperature Stabilization

The GS-MAX-8000 comes with a temperature probe and can be calibrated for temperature stabilization over a wide range of temperatures from -40 to +40 C˚. Temperature compensation is detector specific, therefore it is up to the user to activate and calibrate this feature if required. Calibration instructions are included in the manual.

Pre-adjusted for NaI(Tl) Detectors

The GS-MAX-8000 comes optimised for NaI(Tl) detectors, however the user can easily modify the pulse shape settings for compatibility with other scintillation crystals. See manual for detailed instructions.

Compatible with single and two wire detectors

The GS-MAX-8000 has an optional BNC signal input for use with integral coupling detectors (two wire detectors), a small isolation switch under the unit sets the mode.

PC, Mac and Android Compatible

Choose between Becqmoni Atom (PC only), Impulse (PC or Mac) or Atom-Spectra (Android) all programs have unique features which may suit specific experiments. The spectrometer will also work with an Android smartphone or tablet.
